Chelsea’s search for a new central defender continues after it has been revealed that they have had a £30million bid rejected.
AC Milan have rejected the big offer from Chelsea for Italian centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.
Romagnoli moved to AC Milan last summer in a deal worth around £20million to his former club Roma, and has now started attracting attention from Premier League club Chelsea.
Chelsea had been linked with making a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly throughout the summer, but the defender is believed to be on the bring of signing a new deal with the Italian club, leaving Antonio Contr having to shop around for alternatives as he looks to strengthen his ageing defence.
Chelsea have also been linked with Juvenus defender Giorgio Chiellini.
