Chelsea are not pursuing a move to sign Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, despite rumours suggesting interest from the Premier League side.

Reports in Brazil have claimed that Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in signing Rodrygo.

The 24-year-old was linked with an exit in the summer and has struggled to earn a regular role in Xabi Alonso’s plans this season.

Rodrygo has played only 255 minutes of football in La Liga, starting just twice, and could push for an exit in January. He is keen to secure a more prominent role ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

However, Fabrizio Romano has cast doubt on Chelsea being a potential destination. Despite admiration for the Brazil international, the West Londoners are content with their wide options, having signed Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens in the summer. Estevao Willian also linked up with the club after turning 18, following a pre-arranged deal.

Manchester City did have concrete interest in Rodrygo in the summer window, with the player viewed as a potential replacement for Savinho.

The latter was subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur but remained at the Etihad. He has since signed a new contract with the Citizens, penning a deal until 2031 earlier this month.
