Chelsea and Man Utd target admits he isn’t in control of his future

Chelsea and Manchester United target Toby Alderweireld admits that the destiny of his future is out of his control.

The 29-year-old has made 115 appearances for Spurs since joining from Atletico Madrid back in 2015 and is regarded as one of the top defenders in the Premier League.

The Tottenham Hotspur centre-back has however been heavily linked with a £50 million move away from White Hart Lane amid speculation of a falling out with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

He was left out of a number of high profile games with an apparent ‘injury’, although reports at the time suggested that the Belgian was indeed fit.

Speaking to Belgian newspaper Dezondag, Alderweireld hinted that he was unhappy at Spurs, but his future is out of his control:

“I have another two years contract. Tottenham decides about my future. Of course I have my own idea. But that is not the case now.

“The past season was tough. But I’m glad that I could play the last four matches. That means that I am ready for the World Cup.”
