With the Premier League title all but wrapped up, and only Liverpool left to worry about the Champions League, plans are already turning to next season, and of course the players that the club’s need to bring in.
That is of course no different at Chelsea and Manchester City, and according to reports in France, the Premier League duo have joined the race to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri.
The Ivory Coast International was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, but the Ligue 1 side refused to sell their midfielder, forcing him to remain on the Côte d’Azur.
Barcelona would ultimately go on to sign former Spurs midfielder Paulinho, in what was one of the most surprising transfers in recent years.
However, interest in Seri remains high, with Manchester United and Arsenal both having been linked with the 26-year-old in recent months.
However according to L’Equipe, Chelsea and Manchester City have joined the race to sign up the dynamic midfielder this summer.
Signing him would not either be difficult or expensive, thanks to a €40 million (£34.8m) release clause in his contract with the French club.
