Chelsea and Arsenal look set to battle it out with Manchester City for the signature of Real Madrid midfielder Isco this summer.
Pep Guardiola is a massive fan of the Spain international and the 25-year-old almost joined City in 2013, before deciding to move to the Bernabeu instead.
According to reports in the Sun today it now seems that Chelsea and Arsenal are set to rival the Premier League leaders for the former Malaga man, with a move reckoned to cost in the region of £80 – 100 million.
Despite not always being regular starter at the Bernabeu, Isco has proved himself to be one of Europe’s most technically gifted midfield operators over recent years.
He recently scored a hat-trick in Spains impressive 6-1 victory this week, and he admitted after the game that he does not feel he has the full confidence of Real coach Zinedine Zidane, adding further fuel to speculation that he will be looking for pastures new this summer.
“When a footballer doesn’t feel like he has a leading role and consistent playing time with his club, the national team gives him life.
“I have the confidence of my coach here with Spain. I still have the desire to keep working, to improve, to be a starter with my club.
“At Madrid I don’t have the consistent playing time that a player needs.
“But I know the problem is mine, that I haven’t been able to earn it.
“I continue to work so I can show my coach he can count on me.” Isco said.
