Chelsea and Arsenal look set for a summer transfer tug of war over securing the services of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
The Slovenia international is being tracked by both Premier League clubs as each look set to sign a new keeper this summer.
Arsene Wenger is on the look out for a long term replacement for Petr Cech, with the 35-year-old’s performance levels having dipped alarmingly this season.
Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has been flirting with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG over the last few months, and with the Belgium international unable to agree a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are on the searching for a high class replacement.
Oblak took over duty between the sticks for Atletico in 2014, after Courtois’ loan deal from Chelsea expired.
The former Benfica keeper has proved himself to be one fo the world’s best keepers in recent years, having put in a series of impressive displays in La Liga and the Champions League.
Signing Oblak will not be cheap however, as the 25-year-old has a £88 million release clause in his Atletico contract.
