Entertainment was not in short supply during a goal-fest in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

An incredible 43 goals were scored across the night’s nine games, while there were also five red cards and six penalties awarded.

Barcelona blitzed Olympiacos 6-1 in one of the evening’s early fixtures, with Fermin Lopez scoring a hat-trick and Marcus Rashford on target twice to continue his renaissance in Catalonia.

Later on, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Inter Milan all maintained their perfect starts with emphatic wins. PSG won 7-2 at Bayer Leverkusen in a gripping contest that saw both sides reduced to 10 men and Leverkusen miss a penalty.

Arsenal and Inter both secured impressive 4-0 wins, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring a brace for the former to end his seven-game goalless run.

It was a perfect night for the Premier League teams, who all won without conceding. Newcastle eased past Jose Mourinho’s Benfica 3-0 at St James’ Park and Manchester City won 2-0 at Villarreal.

The only goalless game of the night was in Kazakhstan, as debutants Kairat and Pafos battled to a draw. The Cypriot visitors escaped with a point despite having Joao Correira sent off after just four minutes.
