Champions League Gameweek 6 – Team of the Week

As the group stages draw to a close and the teams eagerly await the draw for the last 16, here are the 11 players from Gameweek six of the UEFA Champions League.

Tolga Zengin (Besiktas)

Put in a man of the match performance against Leipzig making 10 saves as the Turkish side went on to win their group.

 

Serge Aurier (Tottenham)

A clean sheet and grabbed the assist for the opening goal of the game as Tottenham claimed top spot in group A, ahead of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Dusko Tosic (Besiktas)

Solid at the back for the Turkish side, making six tackles as they repelled RB Leipzig’s attacks.

 

 

Mats Hummels (Bayern Munich)

Another impressive to display to keep PSG’s attacking riches at bay, winning four Aerial battles and making three tackles.

 

James Milner (Liverpool)

Only came on at half-time, but the Englishman grabbed himself three assists as Liverpool ran riot against Spartak Moscow at Anfield.

 

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

Given the Captain’s armband for the evening and it seemed to inspire a wonderful performance from the Brazilian, scoring a superb hat-trick in Liverpool’s 7-0 thrashing of the Russian side.

Corentin Tolisso (Bayern Munich)

Two goals in a 3-1 win over high flying PSG

 

Saul Niguez (Atlético Madrid)

Another top performance from the Spaniard who wasn’t scared to get a foot in, as well as opening the scoring for Los Rojiblancos against Chelsea.

 

 

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Scored two of Liverpool’s seven goals, including a sublime volley from close range in front of the Kop.

 

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

The ever inspirational Hazard forced the  equaliser for Chelsea and helped secure their place in the knockout round, at the expense of their opponents who drop into the Europa League.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)

Despite his side losing 3-2 to Real Madrid, the Gabon international striker scored a goal at either side of half time to bring the Bundesliga side level and give them hope in the game.
