Celtic travel to Falkirk on Sunday for their next Scottish Premiership fixture, aiming to build on their position at the top of the standings.
The leaders have stayed first despite uneven form in other competitions. In the league, Martin O’Neill’s team has gone four matches without defeat, highlighted by an emphatic 7-1 win against Hearts and a 2-1 success over Hibernian. Yet they were held to a 2-2 draw by Dundee United in midweek, and their European campaign has been difficult, with back-to-back defeats in the Europa League against Benfica, 4-1, and Celta Vigo, 2-1.
Celtic team news
O’Neill has several important choices to make before facing Falkirk after surrendering points during the week.
Right-back Alistair Johnston and winger Yang Hyun-jun are both ruled out with hamstring problems. Defender Auston Trusty will also be absent following a death in his family, while Joel van den Berg remains unavailable as he continues his recovery toward full fitness.
From a tactical standpoint, the manager is likely to move away from the unusual three-striker approach used in midweek. Kasper Høgh may therefore start among the substitutes, with Camilo Durán operating as the central striker.
Meanwhile, high-profile winger Jota could receive only a small amount of playing time, or be left out altogether, as a precaution against the artificial surface at Falkirk.
Celtic predicted lineup
Possible Celtic starting XI: Johnstone; Donovan, Murray, Scales, Tierney; McGregor, Baur; Duran, Nygren, Osmand; Hogh
