Celtic will welcome Ferencvaros to Celtic Park on Thursday for their first Europa League fixture of the campaign.

The Hoops will be hoping to respond strongly after suffering a painful 3-0 defeat to fierce rivals Rangers in the Scottish League Cup last weekend. Their recent European campaign also ended in disappointment, with Celtic eliminated by LASK in the Champions League play-offs. Despite those setbacks, Martin O’Neill’s side has been perfect in the Scottish Premiership this season. Celtic has won all six of its league matches so far, recording victories over Aberdeen (3-0), St Mirren (2-1), and St Johnstone (1-0) in their most recent outings.

Celtic team news

Camilo Durán will be available for selection after missing Wednesday’s training session because he had to travel to London for compulsory visa-related administration.

However, Celtic continue to deal with a number of absences. Alistair Johnston is ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Jota and young striker Callum Osmand are also unavailable.

Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the match through suspension as he completes the final game of a European ban carried over from his time at Besiktas.

Winger Yang Hyun-jun is another absentee, as he is away representing South Korea at the Asian Games. Joel van den Berg and Shim Mheuka are also unable to feature because they are not eligible for the Europa League squad.
