Petr Cech has announced that he has no intention of leaving Arsenal despite the club seemingly replacing him as their number one goalkeeper.
However in recent seasons, his powers have started to wane, with more and more high profile errors creeping into his game.
With Arsene Wenger finally having left the Emirates this summer, new man in charge Unai Emery has already conducted a full review of the Gunners squad. The former Sevilla and PSG managers second summer signing saw German goalkeeper Bernd Leno move to the club, presumably to be the club’s first choice number 1.
With his position under threat, Cech has revealed that he has rejected the opportunity to join Napoli, but he has no intention of going anywhere and wants to fight for his place:
“There was interest from Napoli, it’s true, but my future is at Arsenal,” he said in quotes carried by the London Evening Standard.
“I am not thinking about a change of club. Now there are three in competition for the Arsenal gloves and I am ready.”
