Petr Cech praised Arsenal’s performance after they advanced to the Europa League semi-finals with a 1-0 win at Napoli.
Alexandre Lacazette’s free kick sealed Arsenal’s progress in Italy, with Unai Emery’s side set to face Spanish side Valencia in the last four after a 3-0 aggregate success over two legs.
Goalkeeper Cech, who has been a regular in the club’s European campaign, was pleased with Arsenal’s performance over two legs saying he felt the club ‘controlled’ the tie.
“We controlled the game really well and defended really well too,” Cech told reporters after the game.
“Napoli are a fantastic team who always score a lot of goals, especially here at home, so to keep two clean sheets is obviously something [positive].
“It was a very difficult game but we made it look easier because we played really well.”
Arsenal’s next fixture is a home clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday, as they look to continue their bid to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
