Carrick confirms Rashford injury after positive Man United performance

Michael Carrick has confirmed Manchester United 'felt something' after being substituted during the club's 2-2 draw at Everton.

Michael Carrick has confirmed Manchester United ‘felt something’ after being substituted during the club’s 2-2 draw at Everton.

Rashford’s reintegration to the Manchester United side continued with a positive performance at Everton on Sunday.

The 28-year-old was a threat throughout, completing three dribbles and giving stand-in right-back Merlin Röhl a torrid time.

Rashford was substituted with 20 minutes to go and Carrick has confirmed the winger had a muscular issue.

“He felt a little bit of something so we had to change him.”

Asked how impressed he has been with Rashford since his return from a loan spell at Barcelona, and specifically his connection with Luke Shaw on the left, Carrick added: “Yeah, I thought we had good connections pretty much all over the pitch at different times of the game.

“Marcus and Luke have played together for a long period of time and have a good understanding. You can see that and they looked really dangerous down that side. There’s more to come.”
