Jamie Carragher thinks the current side assembled by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is the best side that the club has had in years.
Carragher played with great aplomb for Liverpool for 17 years, winning 10 major honours in what was an illustrious career.
During his time at the heart of the Anfield defence, Carragher played with some great players, and as part of some great sides, including the 2005 Champions League winning team, and the exciting Premier League teams of 2008 and 2014.
However, having being the only side to get the measure of runaway Premier League winners Manchester City, as well as reaching the Champions League final last season, Jurgen Klopp has added Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson to his squad, with Carragher believing it’s the best Liverpool side in many years:
“It does look like a really top-end squad at the moment, possibly as good as anything I was involved in and I was at Liverpool for 17 years,” Carragher told talkSPORT.
“The squad that they have now and the strength they’re looking to gain is as good as anything I played in.”
