Jamie Carragher ripped into Maurizio Sarri during Chelsea’s humiliation at the hands of Man City this afternoon, accusing the Italian of turning his side into Arsenal.
Chelsea had a chance to regain a place in the top four with a win over Man City, but that outcome never even came close, with the title challengers absolutely dismantling the West London club, opening up a 4-0 lead within the first 19 minutes.
It isn’t the first time that Chelsea have capitulated away from home in recent times, with Sarri’s side conceding four second-half goals in their last Premier League away game, the shock 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Analysing the game at half-time, Jamie Carragher ripped into Maurizio Sarri, saying that the Italian had made the Blues ‘weak’.
0-6 – Chelsea suffered their heaviest defeat in any competition since losing 0-7 to Nottingham Forest in April 1991. Drubbing.

“City have been outstanding, but this has been as bad as anything from Chelsea this season,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“It’s only halfway through Sarri’s first season but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he has turned Chelsea into Arsenal.
“The Arsenal team that has got battered away from home in the last seven or eight years because they have been too weak. You couldn’t say that about Chelsea in the past, but this looks like a weak team.
“The first goal is criminal from [Marcos] Alonso. It’s so casual three or four minutes into a big game. He was not switched on at all.”
City would go on to score two goals in the second half to move back to the summit of the table, while the 6-0 hammering saw Chelsea slip to sixth behind Arsenal on goal difference.
