Cardiff skipper Morrison hails ‘massively important’ Southampton win

Cardiff City overcame Southampton today with a 1-0 win in their Premier League fixture in South Wales.

Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds have now won four of their last five home games in the league and today’s three points moved them up to 14th in the table.

Sean Morrison felt today’s win over Southampton was a vital one for the home side as they continue to improve their form at the Cardiff City Stadium.

“The win was the most important thing today and luckily we managed to do it,’’ Morrison told reporters after the game.

“We know all our games are important. Our home form is going to be vital to our chances of staying up, so it’s a massively important three points.

“We just want to keep working hard. We need to improve our away form, we know that. We need to start picking up points away from home, but if we can keep getting points at home it gives ourselves a chance.”

Cardiff only have one home game left in December and that will be against Manchester United. Then they welcome Spurs to Wales on New Year’s Day.

Next up for Warnock’s side is a trip to Watford next Saturday.
