The last remaining Premier League sides enter the Carabao Cup this week, with some tasty ties in the offing, so we have decided to take a look at the favourites with the bookmakers to lift the famous three-handled trophy.
Arsenal – 10/1
Unai Emery will want to get his Arsenal career off to a trophy-winning start, with the League Cup looking like the easiest target for the Spaniard.
A number of big teams use the League Cup as an opportunity to rotate their squads, and with many having written off the Gunners’ chances of finishing in the Premier League’s top four, Emery could be wise to go all out to get some silverware in the Emirates cabinet in his first season in charge
Liverpool – 8/1
Despite their early-season Premier League results which have left them top of the table, Liverpool are only fourth favourites to win the Carabao Cup this season.
Klopp is one of those manager’s who will give Liverpool‘s youngsters a chance, and despite the club not having won a trophy since 2012, it is unlikely that this competition will be high on Jurgen Klopp’s priorities this season.
Tottenham – 7/1
Spurs are on an even longer trophy drought that Liverpool, but with a challenge for the Premier League title already looking to be beyond Mauricio Pochettino’s men, the Carabao Cup could represent an opportunity to finally crack that trophy cabinet back open for the first time since 2008.
Manchester United – 6/1
Manchester United may seemingly be in the midst of a mini-crisis after already dropping eight points in the League so far this season, but make no mistake about it, Jose Mourinho is a serial trophy collector, and with four League Cup triumphs to his name, it is clear he will be going all out to win it once more.
He last won the trophy with United in his first season at the club, and at 6/1, they are second favourites to win it again.
Manchester City – 4/1
Like Mourinho, Pep Guardiola is a serial winner, and with all the talk of a potential quadruple going down the pan last season, the Catalan manager will be eyeing the historic and unprecedented feat this time round.
Not only do Man City have a squad full of incredible talent, but they also have immense squad depth, which could afford Guardiola the opportunity to rotate his side for the Carabao Cup, while still maintaining a massive superiority over their opponents.
