Caballero: Chelsea ‘need’ three points against Spurs

Willy Caballero says Chelsea ‘need’ three points as they prepare to face Tottenham in a huge London derby meeting this weekend.

Chelsea make the trip across the capital to face Spurs and their former manager Jose Mourinho on Sunday in a clash which could have huge implications on the race to secure a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.

Frank Lampard‘s side have endured a disappointing spell of late and have lost four of their past five Premier League fixtures, whilst Spurs are on an impressive run and have closed the gap to the fourth-placed Blues to just three points ahead of their showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Caballero admits a return to winning ways for his side is vital ahead of what shapes up to be a high stakes fixture, as Chelsea look to bounce back from their recent woes in a significant London derby.

“We love this kind of game and this rivalry. It’s a massive derby,” Caballero told Sky Sports News.

“We want to win because it’s a derby and because we lost the last game. We need these three points.

“We know they’re putting in better performances now, they’re running differently from two months ago. We’ll have to do a great job over there.

“We know we can do better than we did in the last couple of games at home.”

The game will be the second time Jose Mourinho has come up against a side managed by Frank Lampard, his Manchester United side losing to Derby in last season’s Carabao Cup.
