Burnley host league leaders Arsenal on Saturday with a renewed sense of belief.
After a difficult start to the season, Scott Parker’s side have secured back-to-back Premier League victories. This run has provided a crucial five-point buffer to the relegation zone. Consequently, they will be aiming for a third straight top-flight win for the first time since April 2022.
The Clarets face a monumental task, however. They have failed to score more than one goal in any of their 18 Premier League games against Arsenal. Furthermore, they have not won a league match against a team starting the day top of the table since 1975. Breaking that record will require a perfect defensive performance.
Burnley team news
Scott Parker is expected to keep faith with the core of the team that won at Wolves. Zian Flemming is in good form. Therefore, he will likely lead the attack once again. On Burnley’s end, Lesley Ugochukwu was a late enforced change in the five-goal thriller with Wolves. However, there are no serious concerns about the midfielder’s availability for Saturday.
The manager’s main issues are in defence. Indeed, he remains without three key defenders: Jordan Beyer, Zeki Amdouni, and Connor Roberts. In their absence, Axel Tuanzebe and Maxime Estève will continue at the heart of the backline.
Meanwhile, left-back Quilindschy Hartman has been a key creator. He provided two assists at Molineux last weekend. In total, he has now set up four goals in the Premier League so far this season. However, all of his contributions have notably come on the road.
Burnley predicted Lineup
