Burnley and Southampton are preparing to go head-to-head for Anderlecht midfielder Steven Defour.
The Belgian was once a target for Sir Alex Ferguson until he suffered a serious injury that prevented him moving to Old Trafford back in 2009.
He then moved to FC Porto before heading back to Belgium to play for Anderlecht in 2014.
The midfielder is however keen to make another move after growing tired of abuse from his own fans, who haven’t forgotten his spell with their bitter rivals Standard Liege.
Premier League duo Burnley and Southampton are both linked with making a move for the Belgian, who would cost around £6million, according to various reports.
