Bruno Fernandes has somehow managed to convince both Liverpool and Manchester United fans that he is about to join both of their clubs. Quite the achievement.
The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Liverpool, United, Spurs and Man City all having been linked at one point or another.
Fernandes posted a lengthy post on Instagram, which some fans have interpreted as a farewell message, saying: “An unforgettable season. The achievements in the league cup and the Portuguese cup at a collective level, crowned with a personal record.
“Average most scorer of European football of recent years. Thank you all for your contribution. Without you this wouldn’t be possible.”
That was followed up by a picture of himself and his family on an aeroplane, with somehow both Liverpool and Manchester United fans coming to the conclusion that he was on his way to sign for their club.
Bruno Fernandes has posted a story on IG where he seems to be on a plane somewhere, and he has posted this about an hour ago where he’s thanking for an «unforgettable era». About winning the league and reaching personal goals. Almost seems like a goodbye message … pic.twitter.com/ZwB0Bm0U8N

If Bruno Fernandes ends up at Liverpool, I’m going to have to do the obvious and scratch Ed’s eyes out.
Liverpool will win a lot with Bruno.

Reports in Portugal have suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged Ed Woodward to ‘speed up’ his negotiations to sign Fernandes, with the executive vice-chairman seemingly bumbling his way through the market negotiating one deal at a time.
That has seen Liverpool installed as favourites to secure Fernandes’ signature, with some bookies offering odds of 1/9.
