The Seagulls are seeking a fifth straight win in all competitions having found form under Fabian Hurzeler.
Brighton beat Bournemouth in the Premier League in midweek to strengthen their challenge for European football. That result followed a 4-0 thrashing of Southampton and back-to-back league and cup wins over Chelsea.

Brighton have never won a major trophy but have reached the FA Cup semi-finals twice in the last six seasons. A win this afternoon ensures progress into the last eight.
However, Hurzeler’s side face a tough task at St James’ Park. Newcastle have already reached the Carabao Cup final this season and are aiming for further cup progress.
