Brighton XI vs Coventry City – Predicted lineup and team news

Brighton & Hove Albion travel to the CBS Arena on Sunday looking to end a run of three straight Premier League away defeats.

Brighton & Hove Albion travel to the CBS Arena on Sunday looking to end a run of three straight Premier League away defeats.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side sit tenth on four points after a mixed start to the season, and go into the weekend boasting the highest expected-goals total in the division despite not always convincing at the back. Brighton have not lost four consecutive top-flight away matches since 2019, a run Hurzeler will be keen to avoid extending against a Coventry side still without a point.

Brighton team news

Yankuba Minteh (calf), Kaoru Mitoma (thigh), Jack Hinshelwood, Mats Wieffer (knee), Stefanos Tzimas (knee), Evan Ferguson (ankle) and Zadok Yohanna are all unavailable. Hurzeler confirmed Femi Azeez and Georginio Rutter both have a chance of being involved, though neither is expected to start — particularly Rutter following a recent setback. Michael Svoboda’s knee problem could also have settled sufficiently for him to be included in the squad.

With that lengthy absentee list, Charalampos Kostoulas is set to continue leading the line, supported by Malick Yalcouye and Diego Gomez. Maxim De Cuyper continues to operate in a makeshift left-wing role in Minteh and Mitoma’s absence, having made more crosses and box entries this season than all but one Premier League player.

Brighton predicted lineup

Brighton & Hove Albion possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Kadioglu, Dunk, Vuskovic, Boscagli; Gross, Ayari; Gomez, Yalcouye, De Cuyper; Kostoulas
