Brighton defender Dale Stephens thinks Manchester United were lucky to only concede three goals on Sundays afternoon.
The Seagulls stunned Manchester United at the Amex stadium, comfortably beating Jose Mourinho’s side 3-2 to claim their first points of the season, as well as pile the pressure on the Red Devils.
A cheeky flick from Glenn Murray, a drilled goal from Shane Duffy and a penalty from Pascal Gross gave the South Coast club a 3-1 lead at half-time, with Paul Pogba slotting home a 93rd-minute penalty, but it would be too little too late.
However, Seagulls midfielder Dale Stephens thinks that Brighton probably should have scored several more:
“I thought we deserved to win and by a bigger margin,” the defender told Sky Sports after the game.
“I thought we played very well today and probably that scoreline doesn’t reflect our performance.”
