Brentford host Liverpool at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon, unbeaten in all competitions this season and one point clear of the visitors.
Keith Andrews’s side have won two and drawn four of their six league games, including a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa in which Kristoffer Ajer and Yehor Yarmoliuk scored. They are unbeaten in eight league games at home (W3 D5) but have not won in eight away. Their last two meetings with Liverpool were a 3-2 home win in October 2025 and a 1-1 draw at Anfield in May. Brentford have a goal difference of +12 across all competitions.
Brentford team news
Kevin Schade (shoulder) and Jannik Schuster (ankle) went off at Aston Villa but have trained this week, and Andrews said both will be assessed. Mikkel Damsgaard (ankle) and Nathan Collins (calf) are also doubtful, though Andrews said they are closer to a return. Josh Dasilva (hamstring), Antoni Milambo (knee) and Kaye Furo (metatarsal) remain out. If Schuster is not fit, Sepp van den Berg is expected to deputise at centre-back.
Dango Ouattara could start on the left of attack if Schade misses out, with Jaidon Anthony on the right behind Igor Thiago. Mathias Jensen could return in a three-man midfield alongside Yarmoliuk and Vitaly Janelt, which may move Keane Lewis-Potter back to left-back, where he would compete with El Hadji Malick Diouf. Michael Kayode is expected to keep the right-back spot ahead of Aaron Hickey, and Kristoffer Ajer is expected to start at centre-back. Former Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is predicted between the posts.
Brentford predicted lineup
Brentford possible starting XI: Kelleher; Kayode, Van den Berg, Ajer, Lewis-Potter; Yarmoliuk, Janelt; Anthony, Jensen, Ouattara; Thiago
