Brentford have won two and drawn four of their six league games, their longest unbeaten start to a league season since 2006-07, when they were in the third tier. They have not lost at home in eight league games. Liverpool have nine points from six league games, having lost 3-0 at home to Manchester City before winning 6-3 at LASK Linz in the Champions League. Mikkel Damsgaard (ankle) and Nathan Collins (calf) are also doubtful, though Andrews said they are closer to a return. Josh Dasilva (hamstring), Antoni Milambo (knee) and Kaye Furo (metatarsal) remain out. Sepp van den Berg is expected to deputise at centre-back if Schuster is not fit.

Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), Alexander Isak (thigh) and Cody Gakpo (ankle) are doubts, and none is likely to start even if fit. Trey Nyoni, 19, could make his first Premier League start in midfield.

Form

Brentford

Brentford are unbeaten in all competitions, with two wins and four draws in the league. They came from behind to draw 2-2 at Aston Villa last time out, with Kristoffer Ajer and Yehor Yarmoliuk scoring, three weeks after beating Chelsea 3-0 at home. They have used nine different scorers in the league and are unbeaten in eight league games at home (W3 D5), though they are without a win in eight away.

Liverpool

Liverpool lost 3-0 at home to Manchester City on 11 October, a game in which Gravenberch was sent off, ending Iraola’s 23-game unbeaten run as a Premier League manager. They responded with a 6-3 win at LASK Linz in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Bradley Barcola scoring a hat-trick. They have kept three league clean sheets and have yet to concede from a set piece.
