The Bees have been making a habit of it lately. Two weeks ago Yoane Wissa stunned champions Manchester City when headed the ball in from close range after just 22 seconds.
Seven days later Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring against Tottenham Hotspur with a wicked volley just 23 seconds after the kickoff.
The Cameroon forward was quick off the mark yet again today as he produced another wonderful volleyed finish to take the lead 37 seconds into the game against West Ham United.
That makes it three consecutive matches where Brentford have scored within the first minute – the first Premier League team to ever do so. Remarkable!
Manager Thomas Frank evidently wants his players to get the ball in the mixer early and often to catch the opposition by surprise. And it has paid dividends.
Brentford did, however, lose both of their prior matches despite their rapid starts. Can they hang on for victory this time?
