Brennan Johnson says he is “excited” to join a “massive club” like Everton after leaving Crystal Palace, with Dwight McNeil going in the other direction.
The winger has signed a four-year contract with the Toffees as part of the swap deal, just eight months after signing for Palace.
The Wales international joined the Eagles from Tottenham Hotspur for a £35 million transfer fee in January and went on to make 13 Premier League starts for the club in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
Johnson also made seven appearances in their successful UEFA Conference League campaign, though he was an unused sub in the final against Rayo Vallecano.
Johnson ‘excited’ as Everton complete Crystal Palace transfer
“I’m so excited to be here,” the 25-year-old said. “The Club speaks for itself – it’s a massive club and one that when I first heard of the interest, I immediately wanted to come and be part of it.
“There were a lot of reasons why I was so keen to join – the manager, the players, the direction the team is going in. You can see this is a club that wants to go in the right direction, and I’m a player who wants to go in that direction, too, so it feels like a really good match.”
McNeil, who has signed a four-year contract with Palace, said: “I’m really happy to be here, and looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“The lads have had some great success over the last two seasons. It’s something that I want to be a part of, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
