Brazil and Haiti meet in their Group C Round 2 clash, with both sides aiming to recover after failing to secure maximum points in their opening matches.

Brazil heads into this game in solid overall form, even though their World Cup campaign began on a quiet note. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Morocco in their first group game.

Prior to the tournament, Brazil looked sharp in friendly matches, recording convincing victories over Panama (6-2) and Croatia (3-1), along with a narrow 2-1 win against Egypt. Their only setback in that run was a close 2-1 defeat to France.

Brazil team news

For this second Group C fixture, Brazil will once again be without Neymar. The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed that he remains at the training base as he continues his recovery from a right calf injury.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to make a few changes to his lineup after the underwhelming performance against Morocco.

With Neymar unavailable, Matheus Cunha is expected to take the central attacking role. He will be supported by Vinícius Júnior on one flank and Raphinha on the other, bringing pace and creativity from the wings.

Young prospects like Endrick and Gabriel Martinelli are also in contention to feature, likely coming off the bench to add energy in the later stages.

In midfield, Casemiro could be rested. This may allow Fabinho to step into the starting lineup, partnering Bruno Guimarães in the middle of the park.

Defensively, Brazil is likely to maintain stability, with Alisson guarding the goal behind center-backs Marquinhos and Gabriel. The team will be focused on tightening up at the back and securing a clean sheet.

Possible Brazil starting XI: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel, Santos; Fabinho, Guimaraes; Raphinha, Paqueta, Vinicius; Cunha
