Manchester United announced their first summer signing yesterday when the club confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Brazil international midfielder Fred.
Let’s be honest though, no matter how many YouTube or other videos you watch on social media, the 25-year-old will remain something of an unknown quantity to most of us until we see him in regular action in this summers World Cup or next season in the Premier League, unless you’re a massive Ukranian League fan that is.
However, former Brazil and Barcelona superstar Rivaldo rates United’s new man highly and reckons he will be a big success at Old Trafford:
“He is a wonderful player,” the Brazilian legend said.
“Like any other player when you move to a new country, he will need a little bit of time to adapt.
“But when you are a good player and a brilliant midfielder like he is, he is going to do well and he is going to be good for Manchester United and they will be good for him.”
