Bournemouth teammate backs ‘world-class’ duo for big moves

Marcus Tavernier has said Bournemouth duo Rayan and Eli Kroupi Junior as ‘world-class talents’ and has backed the pair for big moves in the future.

Kroupi Junior and Rayan were both on target as Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at the weekend to climb into the Premier League’s top six.

Kroupi Junior’s goal was his 12th of the Premier League campaign, with no teenager having ever scored more goals in their debut season in the division.

Rayan has also made an immediate impact since signing from Vasco de Gama in January. The winger made his Brazil debut in March, and Tavernier has backed his Cherries’ teammates for bright futures.

Bournemouth have had huge success in unearthing and developing young talent in recent seasons, with Antoine Semenyo, Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen and Illia Zarbarnyi among those to have been sold on for massive fees in recent windows.

Tavernier believes it will not be long before Kroupi Junior and Rayan attract similar interest and has praised Bournemouth for giving talented youngsters a platform to shine.

“Rayan and Kroupi? It’s been unbelievable, they are two world-class talents,” he told Sky Sports.

“I don’t think they will be at Bournemouth for a long period of time give the quality they have got. It’s brilliant to have them on the pitch. As a team we give the young players the confidence to go out and play with freedom.”
