Bournemouth are confident of agreeing a deal to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea after positive talks between the clubs.
Disasi is Bournemouth’s top target to reinforce at centre-back following the summer sales of Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi.
The France international is free to leave Chelsea this summer after being deemed surplus to requirements. Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he made 10 appearances in all competitions.
Wolves had been interest in Disasi but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Bournemouth are confident of winning the race. The two clubs are at an ‘advanced’ stage in transfer talks with progress made in recent days.
Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco for a fee of £38.5m in 2023 and made 44 appearances during his debut campaign. However, the defender fell out of favour following the arrival of Enzo Maresca as head coach.
Disasi is one of several players Chelsea are looking to offload before next Monday’s deadline, alongside Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.
