Bosnia XI vs Switzerland – Predicted lineup and team news

Bosnia-Herzegovina arrive in Los Angeles with momentum behind them and a point already secured.

Sergej Barbarez’s side produced a disciplined, resolute display against co-hosts Canada in their Group B opener — absorbing sustained pressure while remaining a persistent threat on the counter.

The performance earned widespread praise, not least for the tactical organisation Barbarez drilled into his squad throughout a demanding build-up campaign.

The Zmajevi head into tonight’s fixture unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions, a run that has quietly cultivated belief within the camp that they can trouble higher-ranked European opposition when the occasion demands it.

Bosnia-Herzegovina team news

Sergej Barbarez has one key fitness concern ahead of kick-off: Sead Kolasinac. The Atalanta left-back took a knock late in the Canada draw and was forced off, but the Bosnia camp remains cautiously optimistic he will start.

If Kolasinac does not come through, Arjan Malic is the likeliest replacement. Malic joined the squad before the tournament as cover for Nidal Celik, who picked up a training injury and missed the entire competition. Nikola Vasilj starts in goal after a composed display against Canada.

Nikola Katic and Tarik Muharemovic are set to anchor the centre of defence again. Amar Dedic continues at right-back. Benjamin Tahirovic and Ivan Basic form the midfield engine room, offering Barbarez both solidity and pressing intensity.

Esmir Bajraktarevic and Amar Memic carry the creative responsibility from wide. Kerim Alajbegovic, who made history against Canada as Bosnia’s youngest-ever World Cup player, pushes for a starting role.

Ermedin Demirovic and Jovo Lukic lead the attack. Lukic headed Bosnia in front against Canada on his international debut and keeps his place. Veteran captain Edin Dzeko is fit again and offers Barbarez a powerful option from the bench.
