Juventus have withdrawn their interest in signing Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City this month, in a boost to the midfielder’s Premier League suitors.
Phillips is expected to leave Manchester City after a disappointing spell with Pep Guardiola’s side, with the England international having started just two Premier League games since his £45m arrival from Leeds 18 months ago.

Juventus had been keen on a loan deal to sign the 28-year-old this month, but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Italian side have now withdrawn their interest. The current conditions of a deal are out of reach for Juventus, who are unwilling to match City’s demands over ‘a loan fee and salary coverage’.
That news will be a huge boost to Phillips’ Premier League suitors. Newcastle have been linked with the midfielder, following the club’s injury issues and Sandro Tonali’s ban for breaching gambling rules. Fulham have also been credited with interest in Phillips.
The midfielder is keen to quit the Etihad in search of regular minutes, as he looks to cement his place in the England squad for next summer’s European Championship.
Phillips, who won England Men’s Player of the Year in 2020/21, has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squads despite his lack of football at club level.
