Chelsea’s proposed summer move for Romelu Lukaku has been given a boost this morning as reports emerge that Everton are looking at signing a Premier League striker.

Chelsea have been pushing to re-sign Lukaku who left the club just two-years ago for £28million, but have so far failed to meet Evertons asking price of £75million.

However, their pursuit of Lukaku could have been given a boost as the London Evening Standard claim that Everton are already lining up a potential replacement as they are interested in signing Southampton striker Charlie Austin.

Austin only moved to to Southampton in January where he was signed by Ronald Koeman for just £4million, and now Koeman wants to sign him once again for Everton.

The striker’s game time at Southampton has been limited to just two starts in the Premier League due to a number of injuries.
