Blow for Chelsea as Euro 2016 star chooses Inter Milan

Chelsea have missed out on one of their summer transfer targets after Potugal midfielder Joao Mario has agreed to join Inter Milan.

The 23-year old has rejected the chance to join Chelsea’s star studded lineup in favour of becoming one of the main men at the San Siro after agreeing a five-year deal with the Nerazzuri.

It is believed that Mario, who was one of Portugals main men in their victorious Euro 2016 campaign, will move to Serie A after Inter Milan agreed a £29million fee with Sporting Lisbon, whilst agreeing a deal to triple his wages, where he will now earn around £29,000-a-week.

Mario has chosen to be one of the main figures at the San Siro, rather than compete with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Cesc Fàbregas and Willian at Stamford Bridge.
