Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa says Patrick Bamford has an ‘important’ role to play for his side as they seek promotion to the Premier League.
Bamford arrived at Elland Road in the summer from Middlesbrough, but after an injury hit spell at the club so far, returned to the side with the winning goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bolton.
“For Patrick, the goal is very good for his confidence.’’ Bielsea told Leeds official website.
“He’s worked very hard to gain back his sports fitness and for us to have two strikers and goal-scorers in our team is very important.
“It is very difficult to play in an offensive position and to have different possibilities in offensive positions, but today we had Jack Clarke, Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts on the bench.
“Patrick can be very important in the second half of the season, I’ve always had the idea of having 18 starters inside the team and also to have some young players to cover the necessities of the team.
