Bielsa: Leeds ‘deserved’ Swansea win

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has said that his side deserved to come away from the contest with Swansea City as winners.

The Yorkshire club returned to the top of the Championship table thanks to first-half goals from Pontus Jansson and Jack Harrison, giving them a 2-1 win.

Leeds conceded a late penalty, which Oli McBurnie despatched for the Swans in the 87th minute, but it was nothing more than a consolation for the visiting side.

After the game Bielsa said his charges could and should have won the game by more than one goal.

“We deserved to win. It’s hard to understand that we only won by one goal because we dominated the game and had many chances,’’ Bielsa told BBC Radio Leeds.

“The players will have a four-day rest from Thursday until Sunday. We’ll take advantage of this period to recover well.”
