The battle for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to intensify this week as Chelsea plan to make a bid for the midfielder within 48 hours.
According to the Sunday Express, the Premier League champions will make the first move to sign the England international, who is also attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates, and has reportedly told the Gunners that he does not plan on extending his contract, despite them presenting him with a new £100,000-a-week offer.
With Chelsea due to make a bid for ‘the Ox’, that is thought to draw out the interest from Manchester City who could follow suit with a bid of their own. City have been interested in signing fellow Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, but have since felt that interest dwindle following PSG’s desire to sign the Chilean and Arsenal’s reluctance to sell.
Arsenal are believed to value the versatile midfielder at around £25m. Chamberlain is capable of playing as both a winger or more central midfielder, and was even utilised as a wing back last year by Arsene Wenger, something that is attracting Conte, Guardiola and Klopp.
