Betfred app testing on an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy shaped every finding on this page, from the first download to the last cash out. Betfred was founded in 1967 by brothers Fred and Peter Done, and its betting shops became a high-street fixture long before smartphones arrived. The app now offers 21 sports, Racing Post data, and the bookmaker’s long-running Double Delight and Hat-Trick Heaven features. Here is how it holds up once you put the phone where your betting slip used to be.
New customers are currently eligible for £50 in free bets after a first £10 bet on sports. For complete details on the same, check out our detailed Betfred promo code page.
New customers only. What’s the Betfred App Worth? Our Expert Verdict
We rate the Betfred app 4.4 out of 5. Racing fans and first-goalscorer backers get the most from it, thanks to Racing Post data and Double Delight built straight into the betslip.
Store ratings back that up, with 4.6 on the App Store from around 65,000 ratings and 4.5 on Google Play from more than 15,000 reviews. Our full Betfred review covers the wider sportsbook, but mobile is where most of our testing time went.

Betfred App Download: iPhone, Android and Samsung Devices
The Betfred app download is free on both major stores. Searching “Betfred” brings up the listing titled Betfred Sports, Casino & Games, which is the one you want.
Betfred iOS: Installing on iPhone and iPad
- Open the App Store and search for Betfred.
- Check the developer is listed as Betfred.
- Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
Betfred iOS requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 17.0 or later on iPad. Older devices that cannot update will need to use the mobile site instead.
Betfred Android and the Betfred App on Samsung
Betfred Android users should install from Google Play, where Betfred Technology Ltd is listed as the developer. Samsung Galaxy phones use that same Google Play listing, and it installed cleanly on the Galaxy handset we tested.
Betfred App Login: Getting In Without the Headache
Betfred app login uses the same username and password as the desktop site. Logging in costs nothing, just like the download, so there is nothing to pay beyond your own stakes.
- Open the app and tap Log In.
- Enter your username and password.
- Complete any security prompt, and you land on the sports homepage.
New customers only. Register, deposit with a Debit Card, and place a first bet of £10+ at Evens (2.0)+ on Sports, to be settled within 7 days, to get £30 in Sports Free Bets and £20 in Bet Builder Free Bets within 24 hours of settlement. 7-day expiry. When the Login Fails
Most failed logins come down to a mistyped password or caps lock, a classic we are not proud to admit we tested personally. If the app asks you to contact the customer team before logging in, the account needs a manual review, and only Betfred can clear it.
Opening an Account and the Betfred £50 Free Bet Structure
After completing our registration on the site through the app, the form took a few minutes and asked for standard UK details. The Betfred registration steps are identical on mobile and desktop.
| Offer term | Detail |
|---|---|
| Eligibility | New UK customers, 18+ |
| Deposit method | Debit card |
| Qualifying bet | £10+ at Evens (2.0) or bigger on sports |
| Settlement window | Qualifying bet settled within 7 days |
| Reward | £30 Sports Free Bets and £20 Bet Builder Free Bets |
| When it lands | Within 24 hours of settlement |
| Expiry | 7 days |

What the Split Means in Practice
The £50 is not one pot. £30 can go on any sports market, while the £20 portion is restricted to Bet Builder selections, so plan where each token goes before the 7-day clock runs out.
Features That Make the Betfred Mobile Experience Distinct
The Betfred mobile product leans on features the bookmaker has run for years. Our expert panel tested each one during a full Saturday of football and racing.
| Feature | How it works on the app |
|---|---|
| Double Delight | Odds doubled if your first goalscorer scores again |
| Hat-Trick Heaven | Odds tripled if your first goalscorer completes a hat-trick |
| #PickYourPunt builder | Build your own football bet from hundreds of markets with instant odds |
| Racing Post data | Stats and tips across UK and Irish racing and greyhounds, plus 13 sports |
| Acca Insurance | Cover on qualifying accumulators where one leg lets you down |
| Cash Out and in-play | Live markets and cash out from the betslip |
Double Delight: The Reason Many Punters Stay
We tested the betslip with a Premier League first goalscorer selection to see how Double Delight is displayed. The doubled and tripled outcomes are explained in the bet’s terms, so there are no surprises at settlement.
Racing Post Data on the Go
Racing Post data covers all UK and Irish horse racing and greyhound meetings, with predicted line-ups for more than 25 football leagues. It saves switching between apps on a busy race card.
Betfred App or Betfred Mobile Site: Which Should You Use?
The Betfred mobile site runs in any browser and needs no storage space. The app adds a faster betslip and smoother in-play scrolling in our testing.
| Factor | App | Mobile site |
|---|---|---|
| Download needed | Yes | No |
| Works on older devices | iOS 17.0+ only | Any modern browser |
| In-play speed | Faster in our tests | Slightly slower to refresh |
| Same account and balance | Yes | Yes |
The analysis we made points to the app for regular bettors and the mobile site for anyone on an older phone or short of storage.
Safety, Payments and Safer Gambling Tools on Mobile
Deposits and withdrawals use the same cashier as the desktop site, and data is encrypted in transit according to the Google Play data safety listing. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are available from the account menu.
