Former Manchester United and Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he finds Arsenal’s young midfielder Matteo Guendouzi such a good player that it ‘p*sses’ him off.
The 19-year-old midfielder arrived at the Emirates as something of an unknown quantity this summer in a £7 million deal from French side Lorient.
However, he has earned rave reviews for his assured performances at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield, with Berbatov admitting that he has been blown away by the talented youngsters confidence.
“He’s 19 but he’s playing like he’s been there forever,” Berbatov said on Goals On Sunday.
“Sometimes I’m watching him like I want to be against him because [he] p***** me off with the confidence he has,” he added, with presenter Ben Shepherd apologising for the language.
“He’s so confident on the ball and he’s everywhere on the pitch. I’ve watched him. He’s in the box, running without a problem.
“You can be 19 and have the mentality and experience of a 24-year-old. Age doesn’t matter. He’s unbelievable.”
