West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino’s hopes of a summer move away from the club have been dealt a massive blow as a deal for a replacement striker has collapsed.

West Bromwich Albion had been looking to secure the transfer of West Ham striker Diafra Sakho this summer, and had already agreed a £15million deal with the Hammers.

However, reports this afternoon claim that a deal to take the striker to the Hawthorns has collapsed.

Initial reports suggested that the striker had failed a medical at the club, but our information suggests that West Brom have pulled out of the deal to sign Sakho after finding out he wouldn’t be fit in time for the start of the Premier League season in just nine days time.

West Brom will undoubtedly refocus their efforts to find a new striker, whilst Berahino’s proposed move to Stoke City may be put on hold whilst they find a new replacement.
