Benitez: Newcastle have to be ‘perfect’ to have a chance against Man City

Rafael Benitez has admitted that Newcastle will have to be absolutely perfect if they are to have a chance against  reigning Premier League Champions , Manchester City.

Man City make the trip to the North East on Tuesday evening, knowing that a win will move them to within a point of league leaders Liverpool, who don’t host Leicester until Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side are in excellent form, scoring 28 goals in their last six games, and with Newcastle languishing just two points above the drop zone, Magpies manager Rafael Benitez admitted his side will have to be ‘perfect’

“I’m confident that we can do well but at the same time, we have to do everything perfect to have a chance,” Benitez told the media in his pre-match press conference.

“We were disappointed (about FA Cup exit to Watford) but we have to concentrate on a very, very difficult game. When you play against Man City, you have to forget and make sure you do the right things on the pitch.

“If you analyse the way they can play, they have three or four of the fastest players in the Premier League. They won the title because they’re a very good team. They have everything – but we’ll try to use our strengths.”
