Hector Bellerin has revealed that part of Arsenal’s success under Unai Emery is the way the Spaniard allows his full-backs to bomb forward at every opportunity.
Having had a shaky start to the season, losing their opening two Premier League games to Man City and Chelsea, Arsenal have now gone on an impressive 10 game winning run after their 3-1 win over Leicester City tonight.
It was the visitors that took the lead though when Ben Chilwell’s 31st-minute shot was deflected into the back of his own net by Bellerin. However, a superb strike from the excellent Mesut Ozil before half-time and two goals in the space of three second-half minutes from substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured the points and continued the Gunners impressive run.
Speaking after the game, the impressive and energetic Bellerin revealed one of the secrets to the side’s success so far this season – allowing the full-backs to attack at every opportunity.
“We work throughout the week to be good from the start but if we keep playing the football we will get chances,” he told Sky Sports.
“Tactically, Unai Emery has always been a coach which wants his full-backs to push forward and gives a lot of confidence to them and makes sure we have cover. It is important to have the confidence behind you.”
