Bayern Munich are interested in taking Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi to Germany.
The Bundesliga champions are looking for long-term replacements for Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and have identified the 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi as a potential target.
The winger impressed in pre-season, starting the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, but has grown frustrated having found his first-team opportunities limited to two Europa League substitute appearances so far this season.
Hudson-Odoi has seen Jadon Sancho, an England Under-17 World Cup winning teammate, flourish since leaving England for Germany and is keen to follow suit. A move to Bayern would continue a trend of English youngsters succeeding in the Bundesliga, with Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson also thriving on-loan at Hoffenheim.
It remains unlikely Chelsea would be willing to part with a highly-rated home-grown talent, but Bayern are confident they can beat off competition from the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal for the teenagers signature.
