Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Liverpool Emre Can according to reports today.
The Germany international has been widely linked with completing a free transfer to Juventus in the summer, with just three-and-a-half months remaining on his current contract at Liverpool.
With his contract ticking down, he is free to discuss a potential transfer with any foreign club, as well as sign a pre-contract agreement.
Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said earlier this week: “Emre Can is a player everyone wants for his qualities and being a free agent on June 30.
“We’ve had our say, there are other contenders and we await a response, but don’t think it’ll be over the next few days.”
Liverpool are still keen to tie the 24-year-old down to a new contract, but talks have been at a stalemate for a number of months.
Now, the Daily Mirror are reporting that Bayern Munich have joined the race for his signature with doubts surrounding the future of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Vidal has been linked with a move away from the Allianz, and recently admitted that he didn’t know if he will be staying with the Bundesliga club, especially considering the arrival of Leon Goretzka from Schalke this summer:
Vidal recently said: “I know Goretzka will arrive at the club but I don’t know where he will be playing.
“As for my future I don’t know if I will leave or sign a contract extension with the club. We’ve taken the right path anyway.”
