Batshuayi happy to make Crystal Palace debut

Michy Batshauyi helped Crystal Palace to a win over Fulham on his debut following the striker’s loan move from Chelsea.ย

The Eagles secured the victory with goals from Luka Milivoijevic and Jeffrey Schlupp either side of the half-time, running out 2-1 winners over the Cottagers at Selhurst Park, with Batshuayi involved in the build-upย to the decisive goal.

The Belgian forward, who joined Palace ahead of the January transfer window deadline on Thursday to add more firepower to the side’s flailing attack line, says he’s barely even had the chance to get to know his new teammates.

“It’s a very important win, it’s good for the team and for me too,” Batshuayi told the BBC.

“I feel good to be here but I need to train with the team. It’s a good start.

“I met my team-mates today! I will bring as much as I can to help the team to win.”

The win gives Crystal Palace a vital three points in the fight for Premier League survival, moving them up to fourteenth in the table.
