Barcelona are interested in re-signing their former right-back Hector Bellerin.
Whatever the result of Arsenal’s FA Cup Final with Chelsea on Saturday, Barcelona will renew their interest in Hector Bellerin. An encouraging detail from Barca’s perspective is that Manchester City have seemingly lost interest, turning their attention to Kyle Walker instead.
Barcelona have attempted to sign Bellerin in the past, but their need for a quality right-back has increased. The Spanish side have suffered greatly in this position since Dani Alves’ departure to Champions League finalists Juventus.
The Independent claim that Barcelona believe Bellerin has the vital ‘Barca DNA’ that those inside the club fully appreciate.
Bellerin signed a contract in the autumn with Arsenal which has six years remaining. There is not understood to be a release clause, meaning the Gunners hold all the cards.
When the 22-year-old signed his new contract, he said that he was not thinking about anything else other than staying at Arsenal and continuing my development. He also added “This is where I’m happy.”
It’s hard to see Arsenal accepting an offer for Bellerin, especially when star player Alexis Sanchez could be on his way out. However, when Barcelona come calling, it is very hard for a player to refuse.
