Barcelona are reportedly “planning” to make another move for Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz after missing out on a transfer for Nico Williams.Â
The Athletic Club de Bilbao star was expected to join the Catalan outfit after agreeing terms on a six-year deal, but he has instead signed an contract extension.
Williams is now tied to Athletic until 2035 and his reported €62 million release clause has been increased by more than 50 percent, putting him out of reach of the LaLiga champions.

With Williams now off the table, Barcelona are “planning a new approach” for Diaz in the next few days or weeks, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer is “not an easy one” to complete, however, as Liverpool have no intention of selling the Colombian wide forward.
The Reds have already knocked back one approach from Barcelona, while Bayern Munich have also been told he is not for sale.

Romano adds that Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford remains “keen” on a move to Barcelona. It’s previously been reported that Barça would be willing to take the England international on loan, although United’s preference is for him to leave on a permanent basis.
