Barcelona accept Arsenal’s Denis Suarez bid

Arsenal’s move for Denis Suarez looks to have moved a step closer with reports suggesting Barcelona have accepted their offer to sign the midfielder.

Unai Emery has confirmed that he is interested in signing two players in the remaining days of the transfer window, and Denis Suarez has long thought to have been a target.

Arsenal are seriously strapped of cash following their recent transfer and contract splurges, meaning that they are only able to operate in the loan market this month, and while Barcelona are willing to let Suarez leave, the La Liga leaders are thought to have wanted guarantees that the deal will become permanent in the summer.

However, the Gunners are believed to want the deal to include an option, rather than an obligation to buy.

Now, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have reached an agreement,

Suarez previously worked with Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, during his loan spell at Sevilla in 2014-15. The former Man City academy graduate moved to Villarreal from Barcelona on a permanent deal in 2015, before returning to the Nou Camp just 12 months later.

Despite featuring regularly in his debut campaign at Barca, he has hardly featured for the Blaugrana this season, making only eight appearances – two of them as a starter in the Copa del Rey.

He has had offers from elsewhere in Spain, but he is determined to move to the Emirates, and looks set to complete a move before Thursdays 11pm deadline.
