Suarez previously worked with Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, during his loan spell at Sevilla in 2014-15. The former Man City academy graduate moved to Villarreal from Barcelona on a permanent deal in 2015, before returning to the Nou Camp just 12 months later.
Despite featuring regularly in his debut campaign at Barca, he has hardly featured for the Blaugrana this season, making only eight appearances – two of them as a starter in the Copa del Rey.
He has had offers from elsewhere in Spain, but he is determined to move to the Emirates, and looks set to complete a move before Thursdays 11pm deadline.
